PalmSource ACCESS Deal Gets Antitrust Clearance
- As we PalmSource reported last month, PalmSource was acquired by ACCESS in a $324 million cash deal.
- US antitrust authorities have approved the deal.
- The board of directors from each company have agreed to the deal as well.
- The acquistion should be completed by the end of the 2005 calendar year.
- ACCESS plans to make PalmSource a wholly owned subsidiary.
Motorola Also Bid For PalmSource
- It seems both Palm and Motoroloa made bids for PalmSource, but were beat by ACCESS.
- Motorola is asking of a "terminate fee" of $8,697,595, claiming that PalmSource reneged on the deal that they had.

Palm Shows Off The Treo 700w Running Windows Mobile
- One megapixel camera
- EV-DO (on Verizon)
- Bluetooth, no WiFi, but does support WiFi SD cards
- 64MB RAM, probably 240x240
- Windows Mobile 5 doesn't support 320x320
- No other carriers for the MS-powered Treos before 2nd half of 2006
- This marks a big departure for Microsoft, in that they allowed Palm to make changes to the OS, i.e. customize it.

Palm Lowers the Price of the Tungsten E2
- Now priced at $199
- A great deal for a bluetooth hi-res color Palm OS device.
Palm and RIM Bringing BlackBerry Connect to the Treo 650
- Turns your Treo into a Blackberry, i.e. your e-mail is "pushed" to you.
- Should be out later this year, 2006 for International users.

RUMOR - Motorola Purchased Tapwave's IP?
- In the Tapland forums, there's a rumor that Motorola has purchased Tapwave's intellictual property.
- Could this mean a return of the Zodiac product line?
- Motorola made a bit for PalmSource, so it's not so far fetched.
SanDisk Connect 256MB + WiFi SD Card Discontinued?
- Amazon no longer has the card in stock.
- Rumors in the forum say that the card has been discontinued
- The SanDisk online store shows it as backordered
