The Dictionary.com website defines ergonomics as “The applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort.”

If you enjoy using your computer, you don’t want to wake up one day wondering why you have eye strain, an aching back or neck, or a numb wrist. All of these painful conditions can be caused by improper positioning of your computer hardware, desk chair, or your body.

Instead of waiting until you have pain, go visit Cornell University’s website http://ergo.human.cornell.edu/ergoguide.html. Review their ergonomic guidelines for arranging a computer workstation, and apply their principles to avoid discomfort from your computer.

Happy Computing!
